It’s been our intention to incorporate all the lessons we have learnt over the last 30 years and design them into our new building Weston House so as to compliment Allen House, our existing grade 11 listed building, with all its timber beams and old world charm.
Weston House looks great from the outside with it brick piers and stone curve features but when you enter you will realise this is a very special business centre filled with care and attention to detail which is what our tenants enjoy.
Let me walk you into Weston House , firstly you will see ceramic tiles to all common floor areas including the stairs which will help us keep the place clean with our in house maintenance and cleaning team. Large 15 person lift so that access to all floors is an easy task, plus spacious hall ways and stairs.
Although we have single bays, double bays, and bay groups up to four, they can all be rented separately or linked together to suit the size of your work force.
All come with their own discrete kitchen, air conditioning, full central heating, and LED cool white lighting.
A small data cabinet with separate switch for data, VoIP, Wi-Fi , which allows you to set out your office furniture to suit yourself knowing that a computer point and power are within easy reach.
All offices have large double glazed windows, suspended ceiling, white decorated walls, grey hard wearing carpet tile floors.
Outside we have massive, secure free parking, along with electric car charge points, cycle park, places to sit along the river bank for you staff to have lunch, Easy walk to Sawbridgeworth high street and two minutes’ walk to the station taking you direct to Liverpool Street station and the city .

- Each of the six main entrances has a COVID-19 Secure sign with the four key messages, also a dispenser with hand gel, plus signage to highlight our recommendations.

- Staff that feel ill should stay at home and get tested before returning to work.
- For your own and other peoples’ safety, face masks should be worn by everyone when walking around Allen House hallways, toilets, lift, or moving from one office to another.

- To report repairs to reception log onto AHBC Portal and select Job Sheet and follow instruction where you will get a reply within 24 hours informing you whether your job has been marked urgent red 24 hours, amber 7 days, or green 14 days. With all of this in mind, Jeff Allen Managing Director of Allen House Business Centre wanted to add to our amazing office space, with a spacious and modern office block to compliment Allen House with the same ethos and team. There will be a new name for this Business Centre and will be called Weston House. The name Weston House has come from Barbara Allen, Jeff Allen’s wife, this is her maiden name, which is felt fitting as a family run business.
Carl Allen, Company Director and team is built up with Electricians, Carpenters, plasterers and plumbers they have been tasked with fitting this amazing modern building with smart entry doors, lighting, eco friendly toilets and spacious offices. These offices will have air conditioning, fully networked, with super fast fibre, central heating phones and so much more. There will be a lift to each floor making it easy and comfortable to get equipment and services up to the offices on the first and second floors. Entry to Weston House will be easy and secure with swipe card entry and CCTV monitoring to main doors.
Growing our business with Allen House Business Centre, Sawbridgeworth, serviced offices to rent in Sawbridgeworth
Working from home was becoming lonely for HNE Media Director, James Garrett. Having taken the bold move of quitting the day job, after 6 months, sitting alone in the living room was becoming too much. He missed working with people and the interaction with work colleagues which was so important to him. Having met a local business owner based in Allen House Business Centre a few months before, he decided to pay a visit to his unit and ask how much it would cost to have an office of his own at the business centre.
Surprised at how cost effective it could be to have a small two person office, James took the plunge and in January 2014 moved into Allen House, armed with an imac computer, printer and a series of cameras and tripods. Excited to be able to present his business in serviced offices in Sawbridgeworth, giving a more professional impression to his clients.
Over the coming years the company began to grow. Taking on freelance staff to help with the filming, editing and admin. As a provider of serviced offices to rent in Sawbridgeworth, Allen House Business Centre has a flexible range of offices, so when the time came to get a bigger unit, James had the opportunity to take on a larger unit within the same business centre. This was great, as having built up relationships with other businesses within the business centre community, he could continue to work closely with these other companies.
At this time James met Richard from local design and marketing agency, The Design Chambers. They decided to move in together as there was a huge amount of cross-over with their services. Being a fussy chap, the office he moved into wasn’t for him and they moved a few months later to a loft style office in the roof space when a suitable unit became available. Having looked around for serviced offices in Sawbridgeworth, nothing was quite the same as Allen House Business Centre, so the decision was made to stay within the business centre.
The business continued to grow and James took on his first full time member of staff, Charlie. It quickly became clear that there was too much work for James, Charlie and their freelance team to do so a second member of staff was taken on. Followed quickly by a third. With a team of four plus The Design Chambers, it was time again for another move!
Fast forward to May 2018 and HNE Media and The Design Chambers find themselves in a large, light and airy office/studio which suits how they want to convey themselves to their clients. The office is painted white, has LED lights and its own kitchen, plus access to the lift for transporting heavy video equipment and the off delivery of several thousand DVD boxes and discs for producing DVDs for theatre and dance shows!
Having the flexibility to grow within the business centre has been great for both businesses, and the team at Allen House Business Centre have supported them throughout. Carl Allen, Director of Allen House Business Centre had this to say,

Allen House Business Centre has been working hard with Harlow College to help boys who haven’t found work in Electrical science.
We were asked by Harlow College to give some boys a chance of work experience, once a week for the last few months. We got a lot from it, as did the boys. We weren’t looking for a new member of staff at the time, but one boy stood out from the rest, as having an exceptional talent and as we already house apprentices at Allen House Business Centre, it seemed like the best idea all round.
Hugo from Harlow, is an enthusiastic lad. His hobbies include, football, gym and cycling. Hugo is at the moment studying for his Level 3 NVQ Electrical Science.
Hugo has fitted into the team at Allen House Business Centre really well and we can’t wait to see what he can achieve!!!
