London To Paris

29th June 2017 by Allen House Business Centre

Allen House Business Centre is planning to cycle the London to Paris to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation and help to add to our 2018 campaign for a defibrillator we plan to have at Allen House Business Centre.

As a keen Cyclist, I am always looking for a new challenge and it looks like London to Paris is my next step!

So in September 2018, myself (Carl Allen) tenants and a few friends will embark on this what would be an amazing journey and adventure. We will be cycling the 300 miles from London to Paris, our route takes us from Crystal Palace in Southeast London to the Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris. Cycling through the stunning countryside and quiet country roads.

The challenge begins bright and early from Crystal Palace, heading south en route to the coast. Through the beautiful Kent countryside to the white cliffs of Dover, where we will catch the ferry to Calais for our first overnight stop. (95 miles approx.)

Our second day will be cycling from Calais to Desvre, a small market town known for its ceramics, where we follow river valleys before arriving in Abbeville. (75 miles approx.)
The third day, we will be following the River Somme out of Abbeville, this being most famous for its battles, but is also a Celtic word for ‘tranquility’. We finish the day in Beauvais where the market is a true highlight. (70 miles approx.)

Our final day of cycling and the biggest push to Paris, where we will be cycling in the country side to the River Seine. After lunch we will be following the river until we reach the Bois de Boulonge, which is the largest park in Paris. From here, it is a short ride along the famous wide boulevards of Paris, before reaching our finishing point at the Eiffel Tower!! (60 miles approx.).

If you are prepared to put a bit of training in, please join me in what would be an achievable and an amazing adventure!!
